Location : mandeville, Louisiana
Year : 2003
Used, Only 555 Alpinas were made. 450 were exported to the U.S. This Alpina is production number 436. In 2003 the prior Z8 production was replaced by the Alpina V8 Roadster. Instead of the original 6-speed manual 4.9 L engine, it came as an automatic with 5 speed BMW Steptronic transmission and a 4.8 L Alpina tuned V8 motor. In the manual mode, gear shifting from the steering wheel is tight and is indicated in an Alpina-specific display mounded in front of the wheel. A new softer grade of Nappa leather was used. The electronically limited top speed was raised to 161 mph. I have only had the fortitude to take her up to 140 mph. At that speed the handling was superb because the peak torque was raised to 383 ft-lb and available at significantly lower rpm than the previous Z8s to enable relaxed cruising. I am the original owner. The car has never been in a wreck. The interior and exterior are both in excellent condition. I drove the car about 24 miles a day to and from work for 8 years, with a few road trips. Until garaged, it was serviced by my local BMW dealer. I garaged it in 2010 and replaced the oil myself every year, driving it around the city about every 3 months. My original intention was to gift it to my son on his graduation from law school, but that was not to be. Now that I have passed my male menopause/crisis and am in a retirement community. I would like to see someone who can appreciate the vehicle take her over. Picture 18 shows all accessories: When hardtop is down: Headrest bra and convertible top well cover. Trickle charger, components for hard top stand with slip cover, and another view of factory front mats. I will entertain your best offer.
